Great place to keep up with your fitness goals!
With more monthly membership options available than ever, the Health and Human Performance Center (HHPC) at San Juan College is a great place to keep up with New Year’s fitness goals year-round.
This 130,000 square-foot facility houses a Fitness Conditioning Center with a comprehensive weight room and cardio equipment, a 6,000 square-foot climbing tower (the largest in the Four Corners), an indoor elevated track, a dance studio, a group exercise studio, an assessment lab, a three-court gymnasium, an outdoor equipment rental center and a wellness resource center.
“The HHPC is a community facility,” says Jon Betz, director of the HHPC. “We support the health and wellness of all our members and provide them with a variety of options to discover, attain, or expand their fitness goals. From traditional weight lifting, circuit training, advanced body mass measurement testing to personal training, group exercise, team sports, indoor jogging track and an indoor climbing wall, the HHPC has what you’re looking for. We offer a wide range of membership options including individual daypasses to family annual-passes. There’s something for everyone.”
More Membership Options Available to Community
For members’ convenience and flexibility, the HHPC has created more membership options. The new Family Pass includes two adults and up to four dependents for only $60 a month and the new Buddy Pass will only cost each member $25 per month. For San Juan College students taking four credits or more a semester, membership to the HHPC is free. Students enrolled in less than four credits can get a monthly membership for only $15, or about 50 cents per day.
The 27-basket Disc Golf course, with the first hole located just outside the HHPC, has views of the San Juan mesas and can be enjoyed all four seasons. The level of difficulty of the course ranges from easy to very difficult and renting a driver, mid-range and putter will only cost $2 from the Outdoor Equipment Rental Center. The Outdoor Equipment Rental Center has everything from backpacking and camping equipment to winter sports’ rentals, kayaks and rafts. Not only do the staff keep the equipment well-maintained and ready-to-go, they can recommend some of the best outdoor adventure spots in the Four Corners.
If exercising indoors is more appealing, try the free weights or cardiovascular equipment in the Fitness Conditioning Center. The track above the gymnasium is ideal for walkers or runners, while the gymnasium can be great place to shoot hoops or play a friendly game of pickleball. The professional climbing wall staff can elevate the experience for beginner, intermediate or advanced climbers. Members looking to join a certified fitness instructor can attend one of the many group exercise classes offered daily for free.
Whether you are looking to work on your pickleball game, or strengthen your climbing techniques, the HHPC at San Juan College has something for everyone year-round. Stop by today and ask for a tour. For hours of operation or more information about the HHPC, visit qc057.com/hhpc.
